about

Great split EP from two of the HEAVIEST bands on the planet!

Legion Of Andromeda take their brutal, stripped back pummeling mix of industrial and death metal and across two lengthy tracks here up the barbarism significantly. The thing that really hits you here are the utterly unrelenting vocals: there's almost no space in the music where there isn't an ultra-distorted grunt. There's little lyrical variance....songs are built up by a guitar riff, the drum beat (it's the same sampled drum machine pattern - "the beat will never change"!) with a repeated lyrical phase growled, regurgitated, shrieked. LOA are TOO MUCH for a lot of people because well, they're not ENOUGH. These people don't have a fuckin clue. Perfect!

In many ways Bismuth are completely different to the cold, harsh sound of LOA. Their side-long tune here is epic, with a near-psychedelic off-kilter sub-bass heavy sound which brings "Epistemological Despondency" by Esoteric to mind. They counter the clinicism of LOA with a powerful, warm sound: there is something very organic....SEISMIC is maybe the better word, to Bismuth's tone. Absolutely love it!

This was originally conceived as a vinyl release and if the other label can get the dosh together it still shall be! Cassette is a great format for ultra-volume releases like this though, so unjoy!

Pro sleeve, 100 copies.
