Two brand new songs each from the elder statesmen of metal punk and Scotland's best metal band.
Abigail hit us with two blasts of sleazy Motor-charged metal punk, characterised by some wild soloing, shredding metallion riffage and amusing Engrish choruses. No re-recordings or live stuff, brand new tunes! Top class.
Vuil's 7" from last year was one of my favourite records and this is sure to be one of my favourites from this year. Going even further from the more necrotic first wave-black metal sound of their early material, they're in 100% heavy metal territory here: the spirit of Exciter, Agent Steel and Razor weighs heavy. Nice to see a band not take themselves entirely seriously; having a tune called "Heavy Boozer" is brilliant.
